What is LED Light Therapy?

LED Light Therapy is the use of LED (light-emitting diode) lights to stimulate skin cells and boost collagen formation. The skin absorbs the light and does not require any machine to contact the skin, resulting in a very clean and non-invasive procedure.

The treatment is much less aggressive compared to laser, resulting in little to no downtime. The light does not produce photothermolysis, meaning it does not damage skin cells.

What does led light therapy do?

LED Light Therapy has many different applications. Different colored LEDs stimulate different light-absorbing molecules in the skin.


LED Light can be used to treat:

  • Acne
  • Inflammation
  • skin pigmentation
  • fine lines
  • Wrinkles
  • boost blood flow

Additionally, LED helps reverse the signs of aging by stimulating repair and regeneration.

How long before the results are visible?

The skin often feels plumper after the procedure and skin continues to improve for weeks after the procedure. Multiple sessions will enhance the end point of improvement. The LED light can be administered multiple times a week. Each session takes about 30 minutes.

Does LED Light Therapy hurt?

LED Light is non-invasive and does not damage the skin in any way whatsoever and it doesn’t hurt. It is a completely painless procedure and does not produce any kind of feeling in the skin. LED Light does not produce sunburn either due to not including ultraviolet light.

Can I use Led light therapy every day?

You can use Led Light therapy every day.

While most skin treatments will have you take weeks-long breaks until your skin is ready for another session, led lights (red light and blue light) are actually quite beneficial if you sit in them for about 20 minutes each day. This only applies to in-home led light therapy treatment.

For office-led therapy, because we use a much bigger light therapy led, you should take, at least, wait a week after each session before coming for another therapy. With that said, it’s in your best interest to consult your doctor or dermatologist before you attempt to do so.

How many treatments will I need?

You will need about 10 led light sessions (red led light / blue led light) before you can see some real results. Because led lights don’t contain and UV and because you won’t really have any noticeable downtime or side-effects, the process will be slower than most skin treatments. However, the final results are definitely worth it.

Will led light therapy suit my skin?

LED Light can be used on all skin types. It can treat many skin conditions including: acne, inflammation, skin pigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles, sunspots, and assist in reversing the signs of aging. Using different coloured LEDs, we can tailor the treatment to your skin.
