Rosacea management
Rosacea is a chronic skin condition that causes redness and visible blood vessels on the face, as well as bumps and pimples. There is no known cure for rosacea, but there are several ways to manage the symptoms and prevent flare-ups
- Topical medications: Creams and gels containing metronidazole or azelaic acid can help reduce redness and inflammation.
- Oral medications: Antibiotics such as tetracycline and doxycycline can help reduce the number of pimples and decrease redness.
- LED – see below
- Skincare routine: It is important to maintain a gentle skincare routine, using products specifically formulated for sensitive skin. We love Biretix Isorepair moisturiser for Rosacea skin, it it nourishing, healing and includes SA growth factor ($52)
- Avoiding harsh soaps, scrubs, and exfoliants, and using non-comedogenic, fragrance-free products can help prevent flare-ups.
- Lifestyle changes: Avoiding triggers, such as alcohol, spicy foods, and hot drinks, can help reduce the frequency and severity of flare-ups
- Sun protection: Using a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 every day can help protect the skin from further damage and prevent flare-ups.
Our approach to Rosacea
LED (light-emitting diode) therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses different wavelengths of light to improve the appearance of the skin. When it comes to treating rosacea, certain colors of LED light have been found to be more effective than others.
Red light: Red light has been shown to be effective in reducing inflammation and improving the appearance of blood vessels in the skin. It can also help to improve skin texture and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Blue light: Blue light is known to help kill bacteria and reduce the number of pimples and pustules associated with rosacea.
Near-infrared light: near-infrared light has been shown to improve the skin’s ability to repair itself and reduce inflammation.
We will set up the right treatment plan for you to help improve the appearance of the skin and reduce the symptoms.
